    Have you heard about the Bio-Electromagnetic Energy Regulation Blanket, known as BEMER?
    It is a relatively new equine therapy device and in the Dr David Marlin Facebook Group, we have questioned the claims made by the manufacturers and reps.  But now there are two new studies published, using BEMER in horses! I will review the papers and look to see if there is evidence to support their claims.

    – Bio-electromagnetic energy regulation therapy (BEMER) was effective in reducing signs of back pain in horses
    – Postural control and spinal flexibility improves following BEMER blanket therapy in horses
    – BEMER blanket therapy may provide a conservative management option for horses with epaxial muscle pain

    Gillian Tabor MSc ResM MCSP HCPCreg Chartered Physiotherapist Cat A member ‘Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy’ Gillian has been working as an ACPAT Veterinary Physiotherapist for over 15 years. She specialises in physio for horses and riders, with a focus on treatment and rehabilitation of competition horses. Gillian is the programme manager and lectures on the MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy course at Hartpury University and is undertaking research, both her own equine projects and supervising students.
