Webinar – Keeping Your Horse Safe with Dr Kieran O’Brien

    0
By Helen Stock on 28 May 2022 Webinars

A surprising number of horses become injured when both stabled and at grass, in what appear at first sight to be safe environments. Kieran O’Brien will draw on his 40 years of experience both as a horse vet and a horse breeder to help you ensure your horses keep out of trouble.

    In this webinar Kieran discusses:

    • Safety in the field – fencing, electric fencing, herd related injuries, gates, over fence interactions and turnout rug safety.
    • Stable safety – Items in the stable (buckets, haynets), cast/rolling issues, stable partitions, doors and catches, tying up and watching for hazards.
    • Travel – leg protection, customising trailers/lorries for your horse, how they are secured, load/unload hazards, giving your horse a safe and comfortable journey, orientation.

    TRIGGER WARNING!

PLEASE be warned there are some VERY graphic and upsetting images throughout this webinar. All of the images used are purely to emphasis the serious dangers and types of horrific injuries that can occur in seemingly safe environments. If you are at all upset by or sensitive to images of injury then you may wish to just listen to this webinar.
