Heart Rate, Gait, Speed & Distance Sensors for Equestrians

There are so many different apps and sensors around now for assessing your horse’s training but are they useful? Are they even accurate? There are apps based on smartphones that track your distance and speed and sometimes gait and there are sensors that provide heart rate and others that provide heart rate and gait analysis (stride frequency, stride length, stride symmetry).

We have had a LOT of requests to test these products out, so we have purchased the main ones available on the market:

    Polar

    EnduroFit

    Seaver

    Equisense

Dr Gillian Tabor and I will be assessing these for ease of use, fit, the accuracy of information recorded and usefulness.

Watch this space for the results!
