NOW BOOKED – Body condition scoring workshop – looking for members’ horses!

    0
By Helen Stock on 6 June 2022 News

We are thrilled to announce we have booked Dr Tamzin Furtado and Dr Dee Pollard to hold a body condition scoring workshop for members and we need your input!

On Monday 20th June 2022 at 8PM(UK) you can join Tamzin and Dee for Fat scoring like a pro (body condition scoring workshop).

We are looking for ten of our members’ horses and ponies to be body scored during the webinar.

In this practical, interactive workshop Tamzin and Dee will have us working together to condition score our own horses and ponies, using different body types (including natives) to learn. If you’d like to have your horse or pony condition scored as part of the event, we’ll need photographs from specific angles and a little information about your horse to take part.

If you would like your horse body condition scored then we will need the following information.
Email us at hello@drdavidmarlin.co.uk with the following information:

Tell us your name, membership username, email, telephone, your horse/pony’s name, age, breed, workload and any health issues or relevant history.

Send us pictures of your horse or pony standing square on a flat surface – you can send as
many as you like, but these are the main ones we would need:

    1. Side on (with the mane out of the way so the neck is clearly visible).

    2. A close up of the neck area (with the mane out of the way so the neck is visible).

    3. The shoulder, back and belly.

    4. From the back with the whole horse in view.

    5. A zoomed in picture from the back.

    6. Across the back on a slight diagonal from behind.

Using the pictures and the information you provide, Tamzin and Dee will discuss your horse or pony very positively and discuss a tailored condition score for you. They will also select a few case studies to discuss.

Send all the photos and information as requested above to hello@drdavidmarlin.com. By sending in the images and information you are giving the Dr David Marlin team permission to pass on the images to our experts (Tamzin and Dee) and that you are the rightful owner of the horse or pony, you must give permission for the pictures and information to be used and shared in the webinar and on the DrDavidMarlin website in the future.

As always with our community of members the upmost sensitivity and care will be given, we truly appreciate all members that share images and you will be supported positively.

To register and join the online workshop follow this link, members will need to log in to register for FREE.

Sadly we won’t be able to score all the horses we receive, but Dee and Tamzin will do their best!
We will look forward to seeing you and some of your horses on the day!
