New Guidance to Vets as Covid-19 Restrictions begin across the UK

By Sarah O'Neill on 23 December 2020 News

As many of us hit new restrictions across the four nations due to the rise in Covid-19, vets and practices are updated with new guidance by the RCVS.

We appreciate that many of you are moving into tier 4 restrictions and will have questions and concerns about your horses’ welfare and how that will be met by your vet.

Tier 4 Areas – Advice to practices and vets in summary:

    Practices can remain open.

Owners can leave home to seek veterinary advice “essential for animal health and welfare”.

Veterinary work essential to the supply of the food chain is also allowed.

Practice support staff should work from home if possible, the RCVS said, with triage calls and remote consultations advised to support the Stay at Home message.
