Hattie wins the Dr David Marlin Award!

    0
By Helen Stock on 20 September 2023 News

We are delighted to announce that Hattie Collenette was presented with The Dr David Marlin Award, Writtle University College.

Hattie won the award as the student with the best overall performance in BSc Equine Performance Science at Writtle University College. Presented at this year’s graduation as a special award to celebrate their student’s Equine Performance Science achievements.

I was extremely honoured to be the recipient of the Dr David Marlin award when graduating from my degree in BSc (Hons) Equine Performance Science. Throughout my three years of study, David’s papers were called upon countless times as not only a point of reference, but as a gold standard to aim for in my own research. Now a graduate with a 1st Class degree, I’m heading up the expansion into equine nutrition and consultancy of a local nutrition business in the New Forest, specialising in clinical and applied nutrition science.

Whilst I’m only at the beginning of what I hope to be a challenging but rewarding career, I hope to pioneer progressive research into clinical thoroughbred nutrition to ultimately better the welfare of racehorses. If I can break even half as much ground as David has, I’ll be extremely happy.

    Hattie Collenette

Presented with a trophy, certificate and prize from the DDM membership team, Hattie expressed how happy she was and thanked everyone who supported her studies.
