Webinar – Horse boots for cross-country put to the test by Dr David Marlin (Rescheduled)
Boots are the most common piece of protective equipment we use on our horses, but unlike hats and body protectors for riders, there are no safety standards for horse boots.
There are so many different designs and materials how can you judge which boots are the best for your horse?
Having spent almost 20 years testing boots, I can help guide you through this minefield to ensure you get boots that will reduce the risk of injury!
A boot with metal will 100% protect against a hind shoe strike, but will it alter the horses’ gait due to the increased weight? And is it likely to rub and cause soft tissue trauma?
A soft and light boot may prevent concussive damage, but fail to prevent a cut or penetration from a show and also increase the risk of overheating.
In this webinar, we look at the issues and the results of testing the most common brands on the market.
