Webinar – Heart Rate Monitors and Gizmos – Dr David Marlin & Dr Gillian Tabor

Should you measure your horse’s heart rate and speed?

There are an increasing number of sensors and apps on the market that will give you information on how hard your horse is working, how much time you spend in different gaits, information on symmetry, stride length, etc. But why would you want this information and how can you use it. And more importantly, how easy are these systems to use and how accurate are they? Dr Gillian Tabor and Dr David Marlin have evaluated 4 systems – Equisense, Seaver, Enduro Fit and Polar which are all under £400 and will present their findings

David will talk though when it is useful to keep track of this information and what it can mean for your horse.
Gillian has been product testing four different sets of kit and will talk through their pros and cons, as well as comparing how easy they were to use.

If you are looking to spend some money on buying a new gadget, or you have one of the ones on trial, come to the webinar to join in the discussion. Four systems were investigated the Equisense Motion S, Seaver Ceefit+, Enduro equine fitness tracker and Polar.

This is part 1 of the product testing of these devices, part 2 will focus on the gait biomechanics they report to measure.
